Senior Strategist Consultant

Senior Strategist Consultant

Acceleration Point is an organizational effectiveness firm focusing on medical affairs teams within large pharmaceutical organizations. We help our clients achieve outcomes with projects ranging from organization design, to process improvement, and technology implementation. Every project will be different, but most projects follow a similar process of discovery, solution design, development and deployment.

To be successful in this role, you must love consulting, being able to assess situations, develop recommendations, coach leaders, and create awesome work product. We are looking for a consulting rock star that can help us accelerate the growth of the firm and someone our clients will look up to and respect.

There are many core consulting skills you must demonstrate to be considered for this role including;

Discover & Assess – You must have the ability to gather and distill information gained through interviewing, research, and active listening.

Analysis – We often need to analyze data as part of this role. You should be able to use analytic tools such as excel or Power BI and create a story with your analysis.

Process Design – Most projects have some process engineering component to them. You need the ability to look at a complex process, identify opportunities for improvement, and redesign the process so that it is easier to execute while increasing its value.

Recommendation & Presentation – Every good consultant needs the ability to persuasively develop and deliver presentation of ideas and concepts to our clients. This includes the ability to lead conversations and training with large groups of people virtually and live.

Learning Agility – You need to be able to quickly research and learn about new processes and technology. Our client needs are always changing and we need to remain on the cutting edge.

Project Management – The ability to lead, delegate, facilitate, provide feedback, and make decisions while managing issues, conflicts, budgets, and client relationships.

Other Important Requirements

  • At least 7 years in leadership positions within large organizations
  • Travel will vary based on the project, but you should be able to travel 50% of the weeks for 2-4 days at a time.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs functions is not required, but would be helpful.

To be successful in this role, you must love designing and building technical solutions. The ideal candidate has incredible business intelligence skills, but also loves other technology and is willing to learn new platforms.

We are looking for someone that is a business partner to our internal consulting team, but also enjoys interacting directly with clients. You must be able to assess situations, develop a recommendation, and create awesome work product. We are looking for a BI rock star that can help us accelerate the growth of the firm and someone our clients will look up to and respect.

Analysis – We often need to analyze data as part of this role. You need to be extremely proficient at analysis tools such as excel, Power BI and Qlik Sense. You also need to be able to create a story with your analysis.

Reporting and Dashboard Design and Build – You need to be able to review process design documents and recommend methods for integrating data, developing awesome looking dashboards and deploying them to end users.

Business Application Development – The person in this role needs to do more than BI applications. Our projects will use a variety of platforms to accomplish the results we need for our client. You need to be open to learning about new platforms such as SmartSheet, Sharepoint, NLP, Social Monitoring, Saleforce and more. You don’t need to be an expert, but we need someone who can learn quickly and apply their learning to client projects.

Recommendation & Presentation – Every good consultant needs the ability to persuasively develop and deliver presentation of ideas and concepts to our clients. This includes the ability to lead conversations and training with our clients in a virtual and live situation.

Other Important Requirements
  • At least 3 years of business intelligence development with Power BI, Qlik Sense or other similar application.
  • Capability to design, build and deploy business intelligence solutions.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to client sites for 2-4 days.

Material Development & Graphic Design – We want everything produced to be highly polished with a professional look & feel.

Multimedia Development – The ability to write scripts and produce video-based learning using Articulate/Adobe/Camtasia style technologies and provide direction to others that do this type of development.

Recommendation & Presentation – Every good consultant needs the ability to persuasively develop and deliver presentation of ideas and concepts to our clients. This includes the ability to lead conversations and training with our clients in a virtual and live situation.

  • At least 5 years of experience using learning tools to create documentation and training which may include Articulate, PowerPoint, InDesign, Visio, or others.
  • At least 3 years designing classroom and eLearning experiences that fulfill needs identified from internal or external stakeholders
  • Ability to occasionally travel to client sites for 2-4 days at a time.
